Why homeowners finance the whole project instead of scaling back

$

Keep your cash where you want it

A new roof or full exterior project is a major expense. Financing means you don\'t have to drain savings, tap your emergency fund, or pull from investments to move forward.

Do it right the first time

Cheap quotes cut corners. Financing lets you choose the full scope and premium materials you actually want. James Hardie fiber cement instead of vinyl. Full attic ventilation instead of just shingles.

Start your project sooner

Roof leaks and failing siding don\'t wait for the perfect financial moment. Apply through the GreenSky® Program and, if approved, move forward on your timeline instead of the calendar\'s.

Projects Royal Craft finances through the GreenSky® Program

The GreenSky® Program supports personal, family, or household projects. Financing arranged through the program can be used for qualifying residential exterior remodeling projects with Royal Craft:

Your consumer protections built into the program

The GreenSky® Program is regulated by federal and state consumer protection laws. Here is what those protections mean for you as a homeowner:

Not obligated at approval

Even if the lender approves your application, you are not obligated on the loan until you review, activate, and authorize purchases against it. Approval is not the same as accepting the loan.

You authorize every transaction

Once your loan is active, Royal Craft cannot draw funds without your approval. You receive a text, email, or call confirming each transaction, and you approve it before funds are released.

Right of Rescission

Most states, including Illinois, grant a Right of Rescission that lets you cancel the project and the loan within 3 days. Any transactions on the loan are fully refunded if you cancel within the rescission period.

No surcharges from Royal Craft

Royal Craft is prohibited from adding a financing fee or merchant fee to your project cost. The price you would pay in cash is the same price you pay when financing through the GreenSky® Program.

Two paths: prequalification vs full application

There are two paths through the GreenSky® Program, and they have different effects on your credit report.

Prequalification (soft inquiry)

A prequalification request uses a soft inquiry on your credit report. A soft inquiry has no impact on your credit score.

Prequalification is not a guarantee of approval. If you decide to move forward, you still need to submit a full application.

Full application (hard inquiry)

Submitting a full application results in a hard inquiry on your credit report, which may affect your credit score.

Applications are submitted directly to a participating lender. All credit decisions are made by the program lenders, not by Royal Craft.

ES

Available in English or Spanish

The GreenSky® Program supports both English and Spanish loan documents. If you prefer to receive your loan agreement in Spanish, request Spanish language loan documents during the application. You can also contact GreenSky customer service after applying to request a Spanish document package.

Frequently asked questions

Does applying through the GreenSky® Program affect my credit score? +

Prequalification uses a soft inquiry, which has no impact on your credit score. A full application uses a hard inquiry, which may affect your score. The path you choose determines which type of inquiry is used.

Am I obligated on the loan as soon as I'm approved? +

No. Even after approval, you are not obligated on the loan until you review the loan agreement, activate it, and authorize purchases against it.

What if I'm approved for a different plan than I applied for? +

Some plans include counteroffers. If the lender presents a counteroffer, the new terms are disclosed on the offer page and in the loan agreement. You review the terms before you activate. You can accept, decline, or ask questions.

Can Royal Craft charge me a fee for financing? +

No. Royal Craft is prohibited from adding a financing fee or merchant fee to your project cost. The financed price is the same as the cash price for your project.

Can I cancel after I've activated the loan? +

Most states, including Illinois, provide a Right of Rescission that lets you cancel the project and the loan within 3 days. Any transactions on the loan are refunded in full if you cancel within the rescission period.

Who is the actual lender? +

Loans for the GreenSky® consumer loan program are provided by federally insured, federal or state chartered financial institutions. A current list of participating lenders is available at www.greensky.com/bank-partners. Royal Craft is not the lender.

How does Royal Craft receive the funds? +

Funds are released to Royal Craft as project milestones are completed and you authorize each transaction. You are notified of every transaction request and approve it before funds move.

Can I apply in Spanish? +

Yes. The GreenSky® Program supports both English and Spanish loan documents. Request Spanish language loan documents during the application, or contact GreenSky customer service after applying to request a Spanish document package.

Can I use financing for a commercial or investment property? +

No. The GreenSky® Program supports personal, family, or household projects only. Commercial and investment property projects are not eligible.

What identification do I need to apply? +

You need a valid government-issued photo identification. The information on the application must match your ID. The application must be submitted in your own name; the GreenSky® Program does not accept Power of Attorney for applications.

Not sure which plan fits?

Bill or Mauricio will walk you through the options and answer any questions before you apply. Royal Craft is not the lender, so we cannot approve or set terms, but we can help you understand which plan is available for your project type.
