Window Installation and Replacement in Downers Grove
Family-run in Downers Grove since 1973. One of Chicago's first Pella Certified installers.
What we do
Royal Craft installs and replaces windows throughout Downers Grove and Chicago’s western suburbs. As certified Pella installers since the early days of Pella’s contractor network, we install windows the way they were designed to be installed: proper flashing, weather barrier, and interior finish. Also certified for ProVia and other quality manufacturers.
Window Replacement
Window replacement for Downers Grove homes. Cut heating and cooling costs with high-efficiency windows sized and installed correctly. Choose from double-hung, casement, sliding, bay, awning, and picture window styles.
Window Inspection
On-site window inspections that check the whole opening, not just the glass. We look for air leaks, water infiltration, seal failure, and rot in the surrounding frame that can turn a simple repair into a full replacement.
New Window Installation
New window installation for Downers Grove homes, remodels, and additions. Pella and ProVia windows installed with proper flashing, weather barrier, and interior finish so the window performs the way the manufacturer designed it.
Financing available for your window project
Whether you are replacing one window or twenty, Royal Craft offers competitive financing available through the GreenSky® Program for qualifying Pella and ProVia window installations. Loans are provided by federally insured lenders in the program.

Windows built for Downers Grove homes
Downers Grove homes span three main housing eras and each has different window needs. Victorian and Craftsman homes in the historic core near Denburn Woods and Prince Pond often have original wood windows worth restoring, or original wood openings sized for period-correct replacement. Mid-century ranches in Shady Lane Estates and Downers Grove Gardens usually have original single-pane or first-generation replacement windows at the end of their energy-efficient life. Newer subdivisions like Fairview Pointe and Randall Park have first-generation vinyl replacements ready for an upgrade to Pella or ProVia.
We have been installing windows in Downers Grove since Bill moved the business here in the early 1980s. As one of Chicago’s first Pella Certified installers, we know Pella’s product line front to back, and we know when a different manufacturer is the right call for your home.

A local shop, a family trade
Royal Craft was founded in 1973. Bill Cantalupo started installing seamless aluminum gutters in Chicago’s western suburbs, moved to Downers Grove within a decade, and eventually became one of the first companies in the area certified by Pella. Windows have been part of the business for over 40 years. Pella windows have been our specialty for most of that time.
Bill is still on every jobsite alongside Mauricio, his partner since 2023. Between them they have installed windows in over a thousand Downers Grove and western-suburb homes. Complaint-free with the BBB since 2010. Family-run since day one.
The trust checklist for a window contractor
After decades of doing this, we have heard the same five trust questions from homeowners over and over. Here they are, with our answers:
- Will Bill or Mauricio be on the jobsite when my windows are installed? Yes.
- Will I get photos of the openings before and after? Yes, on every install.
- Are the Pella warranties transferable if I sell? Partly. Pella’s lifetime coverage becomes a 10-year limited warranty, counted from the original sale date, when the home sells. The 20-year glass coverage on Pella vinyl and fiberglass windows transfers in full. Details on our Pella page.
- Will I get the completed paid invoice with all Pella warranty paperwork? Yes. Pella’s warranty runs from the date of sale, and Pella asks for copies of the invoices to process any claim, so keep them with your house records.
- Does the 10-year workmanship warranty cover the whole install? Yes. Full scope. No fine print.
A quote from a recent window client
Homeowners who have hired us for windows keep coming back because we treat every install with the same care. This quote comes up almost verbatim in review after review:
“It was a pleasure working with you guys. You really know what you’re doing and kept us informed the whole way. You made it super easy for us to understand everything.”
